story of prophet Saleh

The successors of the people of “Aad” were called the people of “Thamud”. They lived in a place called “Al-Hijr”, which is up North in the Arabian Desert. Their bodies were also relatively large, their buildings were huge and had a lot of money and wealth. As usual, whenever the people become rich and powerful, they forget that God who created them and gave them this wealth is more rich and more powerful. So, they started to forget Allah and worshipped idols again.

Allah chose from within them a man to be a Prophet to them. He was called “Saleh”. Prophet Saleh was also of a high status in their society. He was regarded with respect and they were already going to appoint him as their leader.

He began to spread the same message that the Prophets before him preached, which is: there is only one God, Allah, and He is The One worthy of worship. He is The One who gave them all their blessings, so they should turn back to him and repent for worshipping these idols. He explained to them that he is a Prophet sent from Allah, and that he doesn’t want any money or rewards from them. He is preaching only for Allah.

📝 Lesson: Notice how all the Prophets refused to receive any material rewards.
We too should strive to do good without expecting any reward from anyone except Allah.

Only a few people believed him, and they were mainly from the poor. The other majority of people replied: “We had so much hope in you and were preparing you to be a leader, and now you’re going against our fathers and forefathers and traditions?! We have doubt in what you are preaching us to do.”
And just like the previous nations, they called him a “mad man” and a “magician”. They also said that they wouldn’t follow a man who is just like them.

Prophet Saleh reminded them: Do they think that they’ll be left in their houses and gardens safely while they continue disobeying?

Prophet Saleh insisted that he fears for them the punishment of Allah, just like how the people before them were punished when they disbelieved arrogantly, so they agreed to listen to him only if he shows them a sign, but they wanted the sign to be on their own terms.

“We want this big rock to split and a camel should come out of it.
Not only that, but it must be a female camel.
Not only that, but it must be deep red in colour.
It should also be pregnant.
Also, it must be bigger than all the others.
And it must have an appetite.”

Prophet Saleh agreed, and said he will call unto Allah to bring that for them, BUT if they STILL do not believe, they should know that they’ll be destroyed.

Allah gave them the sign they asked for, and it lived amongst the rest of the camels and cattle, so slowly more people began to believe. The more powerful ones, however, refused to believe and even tried to dissuade those who believed by mocking them and spreading doubts.

The camel was huge and had an appetite as they requested, so Prophet Saleh told the people that it must have a certain amount of time to drink from the spring of water all by itself because it drank too much, and then the rest of their camels and cattle can drink on another specified time.

With time, the people got annoyed with the sign that they asked for! They planned to kill it, and when the news spread to Prophet Saleh, he warned them that they must leave the camel alone and not harm it, or else Allah’s punishment will overtake them!

Yet they killed the camel! They killed the sign of Allah that they asked for! And then they even challenged Saleh to bring the punishment that he promised! They didn’t feel scared because their houses were in huge mountains. They thought they could stay secure in their houses and nothing can harm them.
“The wind can’t destroy us as our houses are within the rocks of the mountain.
The water can’t destroy us as we are high in the mountain,” they thought.

Prophet Saleh told them to remain in their houses for 3 days and he was instructed by Allah to leave the place.
They got very happy when he left, not realizing that this is their destruction!
Then they swore an oath that they were going to kill Prophet Saleh and his family!

But they plan and Allah is the best of the planners. Allah in return destroyed them completely, not by flood or wind, but rather by sending them a very loud sound wave (loud sounds shake, like when you turn on the radio loudly, your car shakes). IT was SO loud that it created a tremor that made their hearts drop and their houses became rubble.

Story of prophet Hud

Generation after generation, the descendants of Prophet Noah’s followers unfortunately again began to forget that only Allah is worthy of worship, and started to worship idols.

Among these people was a nation called “Aad” living in a city called “Iram”. The people of “Aad” were granted huge body sizes and strength. No one was ever this huge! They had a lot of gardens and wealth, and they built HUGE buildings! They built monumental homes and palaces on the mountains they didn’t actually live in these palaces. They were just built as a way of showing off, so that people who pass by would say: “this huge house is for so and so. They kept building as if they’d live forever.

📝Lesson: the wealthier we become, the more we should try to be more humble and increase our charity.

Allah sent Prophet Hud to deliver the message: “O my people, worship Allah alone for there is no deity worthy of worship except Him”.
The disbelievers kept arguing too much and said: “We see that you are foolish, let us do what we want. Is he (Hud) promising you that you’d be resurrected after you die and all that remain is bones?”

📝Lesson: Even though we might believe in resurrection unlike these people who said a straight forward “NO, we don’t believe”, sometimes we don’t act by it. Let’s not forget that. We need to do good deeds and prepare for the Day of Judgement.

The people made rumors that Prophet Hud was possessed by jinn. They thought that he had gone against their Gods, so they have afflicted him by disease and now he has a mental illness.

📝 Question: why do the higher societies always do that and resist change so much?
The rich people decided to secure their dunya this worldly life rather than their akhirah the next life. They rather disbelieve him than have to change their whole lifestyle to fit a certain lifestyle. They attacked him so that no one listens to him, or else one by one, he’d have a big following, and then they’d have to follow him too.

These rich people used to kill the weak believers, and Prophet Hud reminded them of what happened to the people of Noah, and again, like Noah, he said he’s not doing this for money!
They said: “our forefathers didn’t worship that. Are you telling us to stop believing in what our forefathers believed?” ( Surah AlAaraf verse 70 )

Prophet Hud kept reminding them of Allah’s blessings unto them, and warned them of a severe punishment if they insist on disbelieving.

They said “whether you advise us or don’t advise us, it won’t make a difference to us. Don’t bother yourself. We are stronger than the previous nations. We are more than them in numbers, and we won’t be punished like them.”

Do they not see that the one who created them is more powerful than them?

Prophet Hud replied: “O my people I am making Allah bear witness and all of you bear witness that I am free from all that which you have associated with Allah. So gather around and show me what all of you what will do to me. You’ll see that Allah won’t wait for you.”

Then he called to Allah: “O Allah, assist me because they have belied me.”
Allah said, “very soon they will regret everything.” ( Surah Hud verses 53 till v. 57 )
.

Allah affected them with drought. Their gardens became dry. Hud told them to turn to Allah instead of the idols, repent and seek istighfar (ask for forgiveness) and they’ll see immediately rain falling for them. And He will grant them even more strength on top of your strength. They refused and continued to worship their idols. 😕

So Allah sent a huge dense cloud coming towards their valley. When they saw it, they became very happy thinking that this is what will end the days of drought, but actually that cloud brought about cold freezing wind. It lasted for 8 days and 7 nights destroying absolutely everything. Their wealth, strength and amazing constructions didn’t help them, and these were the most powerful people!

Do you see a single sign of them? Had it not been for the Qur’an, we wouldn’t have even had any evidence that they existed. Only Hud and his followers remained unharmed.

Allah says in the Qur’an chapter number 41, verses 15-16:

As for ʿAad, they were arrogant upon the earth without right and said, “Who is greater than us in strength?” Did they not consider that Allah who created them was greater than them in strength? But they were rejecting Our signs.

So We sent upon them a screaming wind during days of misfortune to make them taste the punishment of disgrace in the worldly life; but the punishment of the Hereafter is more disgracing, and they will not be helped.

The miracle of the fetus in Quran

Embryology

Allah has brought you out of the womb of your mothers.

These are steps of embryo formation in mother’s womb

Its Amazing to know that these steps are mentioned in details in the Quran .

This is a verse from the Quran :

“O People, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed – that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity. And among you is he who is taken in [early] death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age so that he knows, after [once having] knowledge, nothing. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and swells and grows [something] of every beautiful kind.”
Quran {22:5}

Who told Prophet Muhammad about embryonic development?

He was illiterate and lived in the desert 1400 years ago

The only logical answer is that this information came from Allah

Allah (God) said in the Quran:

“We will soon show them Our signs in the Universe and in their own souls, until it will become quite clear to them that it is the truth. Is it not sufficient as regards your Lord that He is a witness over all things?”
(Quran 41:53)

This book is beyond human abilities. Do you agree?

story of prophet Noah

Between Prophet Adam and Prophet Nuh (Noah) was a period of 1000 years. Throughout this whole time, people owed their worship only to their Creator. They did good deeds and bad deeds, just like every other human, but NEVER did they associate partners with Allah.

Within the population, there were religious people who reminded the ones around them to be righteous. They were “Wadd, Suwa’, Yaghuth, Ya’uq, Nasr”. When these pious people died, their loved ones decided to make statues for them as a reminder that these were great people who reminded them of Allah. Whenever they would look at these statues, they remembered to do good. However, with time and as new generations came along, shaytan (the devil) whispered to them “can you see how these statues make you become better people? Now go prostrate to them and worship them since they make you better.”

So Prophet Nuh (Noah) was sent by Allah to teach the people that there’s ONLY ONE God to be worshipped: Allah, and no idols should be associated with Him.

📝 Note: Noah was the first messenger to preach to a large group of people who weren’t just his family.

📝 Note: The Prophets peace be upon them who patiently endured the most difficult hardships:

1) Muhammad
2) Ibraheem (Abraham)
3) Nuh (Noah)
4) Musa (Moses)
5) Eisa (Jesus)

Prophet Nuh (Noah) continuously preached his people and told them to worship Allah alone. He warned them: “I fear over you the punishment of a very painful day”. However, the chiefs of the people (those who were respected in society due to their power and wealth) told him “we see you going astray”, and advised the rest of the people to ignore him.

Only few people believed in him. The rest followed those with power and money. They told him: “we do not see you except as a human being just like us”, as if they’re telling him: who do you think you are?
They continued: “we do not see those who followed you except those who are foolish and you have no respect in society… poor… no virtue over us. Rather, we think you are liars.”

📝 Note: can you notice how the same thing happens across societies? They poorer the people are, the quicker they are to surrender to Allah, while the rich get so indulged in the pleasures in this world that they don’t care about the next life.

Prophet Nuh did not lose hope, and told them that he’s not asking them for money for what he’s teaching them. His reward is from Allah. However, he has clear evidence which they fail to see. This is because, when we sin too much, we forget to see the truth that is right in front of us.

They agreed to come and listen to what he was preaching, but on the condition that he must get rid of those poor people who were following him, because they didn’t want to mix with those of a lower social class. ☹️

Of course, Prophet Nuh refused to get rid of the religious people who followed him, no matter how poor they are. Why would he chase them away to make things easier for the rich? Besides, even if he did chase them away, this is only one condition that the rich people made. Maybe later they’ll make another condition, and then another.

He replied to them: “O my people I am not telling you that I am an angel. I am not telling you that I have the treasures of the Earth. I am not telling you that if you follow me you’ll get a lot of money (sometimes people think that if they join Islam and worship Allah then they’ll get a lot of money. Allah didn’t promise that, but He did promise that you will have a content heart. Maybe your pockets won’t be full, but at least you’ll be able to sleep with a clear mind).

Nuh spent 950 years within these people, preaching them all this time to Allah. They kept calling him names, and said he was crazy and mocked him. “He could be rich now amongst us, yet he is refusing!” they thought.
Eventually, the people got fed up with him. They said “If you don’t keep quiet, we will stone you to death”. However, he remained patient and not once did he raise his hands and pray against them or asked Allah to punish them.

📝Lesson: If you are offered the best job positions that would bring you a lot of money, but will lead you astray from Allah, leave it. What Allah has is better and lasts longer.

The final straw was when his people told him “O Nuh you have prolonged your argument with us. You keep telling us that we will be punished! Bring us this punishment already if you’re truthful!”
This is when Prophet Noah raised his hands and made a du’aa (prayer) against these people. Allah responded immediately…

Before he said this du’aa, he first called onto Allah:
“O my Lord, I’ve called my people to the truth night and day,
But every time I call them the further they go away,
And every time I invited them so that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears (to not listen to the message) and even covered themselves with their clothes!
Then I called them in the masses openly and in private.
I told them: seek forgiveness from your Lord, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver.

My Lord, indeed they have disobeyed me and followed him whose wealth and children will not increase him except in loss.
And they conspired (planned) an immense conspiracy and said “Never leave your gods and never leave Wadd or Suwa’ or Yaghuth and Ya’uq and Nasr.””

Their children became even more dangerous and worse than them!

This is when Noah said the prayer against the people: “My Lord, do not leave upon the earth from among the disbelievers an inhabitant. Indeed, if You leave them, they will mislead Your servants and not beget except [every] wicked one and [confirmed] disbeliever”.

Allah responded to Prophet Noah’s prayers, and decreed to send upon them His punishment. He also told Prophet Noah to construct a ship under His inspiration and observation, which he will ride with the believers, while the disbelievers will be left to drown.

He nailed trees together to build the ship, and whenever an assembly of the eminent of his people passed by him, they made fun of him. He said, “If you make fun of us, then we will make of you just as you make fun.”

Allah told Prophet Nuh that when he sees the sign (which is when the earth starts gushing water), he should take a couple from each animal and those who believed with him then ride and go. Narrations say that after all these years, less than 100 people believed.

📝 Lesson: This shows you that most of the time, the majority of people may not be right, so do not follow the crowd for fear of being alone.

Prophet Nuh said: “In the name of Allah the ship will move and it will stop,”, and indeed it moved through waves that were like mountains! As it sailed, Prophet Nuh called to his son who refused to ride with him: “O my son, come aboard with us and do not be with the disbelievers”

His son replied: I will take refuge on a mountain to protect me from the water.”

Nuh said, “There is no protector today from the decree of Allah, except for whom He gives mercy.” And the waves came between them, and he was among the drowned.

📝 Lesson: in the middle of the sin you can still stop the sin. Stop being too arrogant, watch out for the signs and take the opportunity to save yourself.

📝 Lesson: be careful of the prayer of those whom you have oppressed, for this prayer has no barrier between it and Allah. Remember if you cannot benefit someone, don’t harm them. Those who are friends of Allah will keep on praying for you but there is a breaking point.

Eventually, Allah said “O earth, swallow your water, and O sky, withhold [your rain].” And the water subsided, and the matter was accomplished, and the ship came to rest on the [mountain of] Judiyy. And it was said, “Away with the wrongdoing people.”

Story of prophet Idres

Most narrations say that the next Prophet after prophet Sheeth was Idrees. He was described as a truthful person who was very wise and advised with so much goodness. He was a calm, collected person. He is said to be the first to write, and Allah revealed to him 30 scripts.

Allah says in the Qur’an about Prophet Idrees: “And we raised him to a high level”.

This “high level” is the status of prophethood, and others say that this high status is the level of the fourth heaven. The story from the people of the book goes that Allah told Prophet Idrees that, from those who have followed him, if anyone of them has done a good deed, not only will they be rewarded, but he too, will get their rewards. So, the rewards will be multiplied for Prophet Idrees.

When Prophet Idrees approached the time of his death, he was visited by an angel. Prophet Idrees asked him if his life could be prolonged, so that he’d get more rewards written for him. The angel told him to ride on his wing, and they climbed up the levels of heaven to find the Angel of Death, in order to ask him if he could delay taking his soul. As they climbed up to the 4th level of heaven, they found the Angel of Death. The other angel talked to him about Prophet Idrees’s wish, and the Angel of Death said that he had received the order from Allah to take Prophet Idrees’s soul while he was in the 4th heaven, and he was just thinking how can he do this while Prophet Idrees was on Earth?! Hence, his soul was taken at the 4th heaven.

📝📝 Lesson: No matter where you are or what you do, if Allah has decreed something, it WILL happen because HE willed

Love for the sake of Allah

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: *“Indeed the strongest bond of faith is to love for the sake of Allah.”*

Love for the sake of Allah is one of the greatest acts of worship and one of the best of righteous deeds.

It is also part of faith to hate for his brother what he hates for himself of evil.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, no one of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself of good.”
